What to do
Hop into a dune buggy for a scenic drive through the jungle and sugarcane fields of the Dominican Republic. As you venture through the Puerto Plata countryside, you’ll be able to admire the island’s lush landscapes and pass by quaint local communities. Stop in the village of Munoz to learn about the Dominican Republic’s French and Creole communities. Then, continue towards the historic town of Montellano to drive through its sugar fields and plantations. Afterwards, visit Bergantin Beach to swim in the crystal-clear waters, before finishing off the journey at a restaurant to sample authentic Creole coffee.
